Physical therapy involves the treatment and management of injuries causing pain, disability
and impaired movement. A Physical therapist uses hands on treatments such as massage,
joint mobilisations, stretching techniques and exercises to treat your injury. The main goal of a physical therapist is to reduce pain, increase range of motion of joints, restore strength and function and most importantly work with the client to prevent recurrence of injuries.
Here at Head 2 Toe Chiropractic, our physical therapist Barry, will work in combination with
the chiropractors in providing an important part of preventative and rehabilitation care.
Barry will walk you through specific stretches and exercises in our purpose built
rehabilitation room to help you move and feel better. On your first appointment with Barry, will carry out a full examination of your complaint. This will involve taking a full history of your injury and symptoms. He will also assess your movement and work with you to set short and long term goals. We don’t limit our treatment to fixing the injury, we also explore why this has happened and aim to minimise
the risk of it happening again. A rehabilitation plan will be devised. This will be tailored to
your specific needs, whether it is a return to sports or just being able to complete every day
tasks.
As a qualified physical therapist after completing four years at the South East Technological University Carlow, he found interest in this profession from a young age as he found himself getting treatment occasionally with reoccurring injuries and decided to further his studies to learn all about the body.
Barry specialises in the rehabilitation of all age groups, as well as being qualified in soft tissue massage and dry needling.
