Physical Therapy

What is Physical Therapy and how can it help me?

Physical therapy involves the treatment and management of injuries causing pain, disability
and impaired movement. A Physical therapist uses hands on treatments such as massage,
joint mobilisations, stretching techniques and exercises to treat your injury.
The main goal of a physical therapist is to reduce pain, increase range of motion of joints, restore strength and function and most importantly work with the client to prevent recurrence of injuries.

Here at Head 2 Toe Chiropractic, our physical therapist Ellen, will work in combination with
the chiropractors in providing an important part of preventative and rehabilitation care.
Ellen will walk you through specific stretches and exercises in our purpose built
rehabilitation room to help you move and feel better. On your first appointment with Ellen, she will carry out a full examination of your complaint. This will involve taking a full history of your injury and symptoms. She will also assess your movement and work with you to set short and long term goals. We don’t limit our treatment to fixing the injury, we also explore why this has happened and aim to minimise
the risk of it happening again. A rehabilitation plan will be devised. This will be tailored to
your specific needs, whether it is a return to sports or just being able to complete every day
tasks.
